Though several trade unions of the Railway Department have decided to launch a trade union action measures have been taken by the government to run railway services without any hindrance.
Deputy Minister Ashok Abeysinghe said that some trade unions who have resorted to launch a strike have taken their trade union action without considering the government decisions to fulfill their demands.
The Deputy Minister further noted that the JSS will not take a trade union action and the daily operations of the railway services will be carried out with the support of them. He added that all the train services can be implemented.
The Deputy Minister said that the management of the Railway Department has been informed to cancel the leave of the Railway employees. Ashok Abeysinghe stated that the Department will take a disciplinary action on employees working on casual and temporary basis who would not report to the duties.
