Exports sector develops

State Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva says that the exports sector which collapsed during the time of the previous government, is developing at present. He said this during a media briefing at the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs. State Minister Harsha de Silva said that the primary aim of the government is to increase exports. He said that the previous Government exported 32 percent of the GDP. But he said when they were leaving it had come down to 13 percent. He further said that the country also lost the GSP plus facility. He pointed out now the exports are increasing monthly. The State Minister pointed out that the orders are increasing through the GSP plus facility. He also said that fish exports have increased by 50 to 60 percent last year.
