Italy’s Paolo Ceci produced a stunning performance to clinch the 6th stage of the Africa Eco race. The Honda rider dominated his opponents from the outset and completed the 744km course from Dakhla to Tiwilit in an impressive time of 1 hour and 22 minutes, enough to edge out South Africa’s Gev Teddy Sella by 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Pal Anders Ullevalseter, who has dominated the race in recent years winning the 2015 and 16 editions, was unable to trouble the leaders and eventually finished fifth behind Alexandre Vivien Azinhais and Harite Gabari. In the car category, LCR driver Mathieu Serradori clocked a winning time of 1 hour and 13 minutes with Remy Vauthier of Switzerland having to settle for second place. France’s Dominique Housieaux completed the podium, 14 seconds further back while fellow countryman Guillaume Gomez and Russia’s Vladimir Vasilyev finished fourth and fifth respectively.
