A Chinese start-up company has launched what it says is the fastest electric vehicle in the world. The makers of the Nio EP9 supercar say it is capable of speeds of up to 313 kilometres per hour. The car will go on sale next year with a price tag above one million dollars. Cheers and applause at the first glimpse of the Nio EP9 all-electric supercar. This revolutionary vehicle is the result of 18 months of design and testing by Chinese electric car company NextEV. The EP9 is the first car from the company’s newly launched brand Nio. It’s a two-seater with four high-performance inboard motors and four individual gearboxes. NextEV Senior Design Director David Hilton says the EP9 delivers 1-MegaWatt of power and outpaces all other electric vehicles on the market.
