Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa has been further remanded on charges of misusing vehicles of the Presidential Secretariat. Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa has been further remanded by Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne issued an order to further remand the Parliamentarian until the 03rd of next month. Since the suspect is in remand custody for a long period, the Magistrate instructed the Financial Crimes Investigation Division to direct the case files to the Attorney General as soon as possible. Wimal Weerawansa was arrested by the FCID on the allegation of misusing 40 state vehicles belonging to the State Engineering Corporation and causing a 90 million rupee financial loss to the State.
