President Maithrepala Sirisena says the Wayamba peoples’ cry for water will come to an end tomorrow. The President said the world has to face the problem of living, if it does not realize the green dream. President Maithrepala Sirisena said this while joining the inauguration ceremony of ‘Haritha Sihinaya 2017’ exhibition. The educational and environmental exhibition takes place at Lake Roundabout’s environment zone in Kurunegala. The President after opening the exhibition viewed the exhibits. The exhibition with 100 stalls will be held until Tuesday. It has been organized by the Wayamba Provincial Council. Speaking on the occasion the President said that everyone should commit themselves to realize the green dream. He said that he had a dream about the Moragahakanda reservoir and he was able to realize that dream. He said the huge irrigation project to provide water to the Wayamba Province will be launched tomorrow. The soil taken from Gampaha recently has been taken to fill Muthurajawela. He said none of the officials has checked where the soil was taken. He said same situation prevailed in Warakapola some time ago. The President awarded certificates to those who worked tirelessly towards green dream. Wayamba Chief Minister Darmasiri Dasanayake presented a memento to the President for his contribution to ensure environmental protection. A large number of parliamentarians were present on the occasion. Meanwhile an anti-narcotic walk with the participation of school students of Wayamba Province took place on a concept of the President. The Wayamba Province regional offices of Immigration and Emmigration and Registration of persons, were opened by the President this morning. He also opened the ‘Wayamba Maha Govogedara’ building. The President walked around the premises and exchanged views with those who were present.
