The CPC received a 9 million loss on the day where fuel prices were increased

Minister Arjuna Ranatunga says the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has received a 9 million rupee loss on the day where fuel price hike took place.
He added that some officers have breached the law and issued fuel violating existing rules and regulations. The Minister said that it is the common procedure of the Corporation not to issue fuel on the day the decision taken to increase the fuel prices.
But the minister pointed out that, fuel has been issued to outsiders violating the procedure. The Ministry has initiated an investigation regarding the incident. All the officers linked with the incident will be charged irrespective of their background. The Minister said that the act is a result of a sinister nexus of some officers.
