The first encounter of the Twenty20 series between Australia and Sri Lanka will be held tomorrow. The venue is Melbourne. The Independent Television Network has secured the telecasting rights of this three match series. Sri Lankan cricket fans will have the opportunity of viewing this match live over ITN starting at 1.30 pm local time.
Both the Sri Lankan and Australian teams are well geared to play the first Twenty 20 match. Sports analysts pointed out that since Sri Lanka won the first warm up match played yesterday, it has boosted the morale of the Sri Lankan players to face the first Twenty 20 encounter. They claimed that the talents displayed by Lasith Malinga, Dilshan Munaweera, Niroshan Dickwella and skipper Upul Tharanga is more beneficial to the Sri Lankan contingent.
In the meantime attacking batsmen Chris Len who had been named to the Australian pool in this series has recently suffered injuries. Attacking batsman Ben Dunk has been summoned to the team to replace him. It was Ben Dunk who represented the Adelaide Strikers team throughout the Big Bash League cricket tournament. He was an attacking batsman throughout the tournament. In addition, it is the opinion of sports analysts that the Sri Lankan bowlers should direct more attention on Aron Finch and Michael Clinger.
