A Buddhist delegation headed by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya is continuing a visit to Pakistan. The delegation joined in several religious programmes yesterday.
The Sri Lankan Buddhist delegation organized a Pinkama at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Pakistan to offer alms to members of the Maha Sangha. Thereafter members of the delegation led by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya participated in religious programmes.
The delegation observed the present situation of the Buddhist Vihare that was launched in Pakistan under the guidance of Former President Ranasinghe Pemadasa. Among those present were members of the Maha Sangha including the Most Ven. Thrikunamalaye Ananda Thera and the Most Ven. Dr. Ittepane Dhammalankara Mahanayake Thera, the Ven. Niyangoda Vijithasiri Anunayake Thera and Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in Pakistan Major General Jayanath Loku Ketagoda.
