Sri Lanka Freedom Party General Secretary Minister Duminda Dissanayake has revealed that action would be initiated after the May Day rally against those who breach discipline. The Minister made this disclosure at a media briefing held at the Party Head Office.
Minister Duminda Dissanayake said that a certain group summoning a media conference had said that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has not properly extended invitations. If the party’s May Day was being held as usual in the past and also if the invitation is being sent as in the past, their desire is not to go hand in hand with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party but to criticize the party. If they are shunning off their responsibility, they are aware of its seriousness. He pointed out that they would have to take stern action after this May Day, if there are any who contrive the party’s Constitution or breach discipline.
Further addressing the news conference, the Minister said that what is important for a Former President is to participate in the party’s May Day rally and not the manner on the date the invitation was received.
Minister Duminda Dissanayake said that members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party should participate in the Party’s May Day rally. It is an insult for the Former President to say that he is accepting the first invitation he had received to participate in a rally. The Minister added that it is an insult for the former President to make such a comment.
