SLFP Central Committee decides to overhaul the Party

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party’s Central Committee has decided to overhaul the Party. This decision was reached when the Central Committee met yesterday under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena who is the Chairman of the Party.
General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Minister Duminda Dissanayake has issued a statement with respect to the decisions taken by the Central Committee. It has also mentioned the appointment of a Committee for the implementation of the party’s reorganization programme targeting a landslide victory for Maithripala Sirisena in the future Presidential election. Based on its proposals, the Central Committee has decided to effect an overhaul of the Party’s organization structure within a short period of one and a half months to two months.
A decision was taken to solicit the maximum support of everyone for the conduct of a successful May Day commemoration. A May Day commemoration will symbolically be held at the BMICH on the 01st of May at 3 pm.
The Late Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike, T.B. Ilangaratne who was the then Labour Minister as well as pilots of the Party’s Trade Union Movement the late Ananda Dassanayake, Alavi Moulanana and former General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya D.C. Weerasekara will be commemorated on the occasion. It has been decided to hold the main Sri Lanka Freedom Party rally in Batticaloa on the 07th of May.
