A special discussion on the incident that occurred at Galle, Gintota area took place under the patronage of Minister Sagala Ratnayake. The discussion was held at the Galle District Secretariat. Minister Sagala Ratnayke said that security will be strengthened and continued until the situation becomes normal. He said priority is given for the security of the people. Ministers Gayantha Karunatilaka and Vajira Abeywardena also expressed their views. Minister Gayantha Karunatilaka said that as pubic representatives in the area they regretted the unfortunate incident. He requested all communities in the areas to live unitedly and peacefully again. Minister Vajira Abeywardena requested people not to accept all what is reported in websites. He said that five have been hospitalized and none of them are reported to be in a serious condition. He further said that 66 houses, 10 vehicles and 23 shops have been damaged. He said that Government will pay compensation for all the damages. IGP Pujith Jayasundara, Police Media Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera, high ranking Police and Security Forces Officers also attended the media briefing.
