Public servants commence duties in the New Year pledging to build the country.

Public servants commenced their duties for the New Year pledging to provide an honest and efficient service.

The Public employees today pledged to commit for a concert effort to create a prosperous and developed country while overcoming challenges. The ITN staff also took part at an event which was held at the Wickremasinghepura office to give their pledge for New Year.

Religious ceremonies of different faiths were also held. Top management and the rest of the staff including ITN Chairman SamanAthaudahetti, Working Director Wimal Kataperarachchi and General Manager ArunaWijesinghe attended the event.

The JathikaSevakaSangamaya of the ITN had organized a program to award the best employee of the Year. Accordingly, this award was won by Manager of Program Promotions Dr. Hasantha Sri Lal Hettiarachchi.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Highways and the Road Development Authority commenced the duties for the New Year under the patronage of Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways D.C. Dissanayake at the Ministry premises.

Staff of the Pasdun Rata Teachers Training Institute too, began their duties while giving the pledge of public service. The employees praised the government for increasing the basic salaries from this month.

The official ceremony to give public servants’ pledge was held at the Sabaragamuwa provincial council complex in Ratnapura. Provincial Governor Marshal Perera was also present at the occasion.
