Four new diplomats have handed in their credentials to President Maithripala Sirisena.
Gonchig Gangbold has been appointed as the new Ambassador of Mongolia to Sri Lanka. He presented his credentials to the President.
Laimonas Talat Kelpso is the new Lithuanian Ambassador to Sri Lanka.
The new Ambassador of Panama to Sri Lanka Sorvio Saul Sanudio Bethancourt presented his credentials to the President.
Tharanjith Singh Sandhu is the new High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka. He too presented his credentials to the President.
After receiving the credentials of the new diplomats President Maithripala Sirisena said that he expected the support and cooperation of all friendly countries to achieve Sri Lanka’s new development goals and economic targets.
The new foreign diplomats gave an assurance to the President to be firmly dedicated to further consolidate the economic, trade, cultural and social ties between Sri Lanka and their countries.
Minister Mangala Samaraweera, President’s Secretary P.B. Abeykoon and Foreign Secretary Esala Weerakoon were among those present on the occasion.
