President says he is ready to build the country with the people who care for it

President Maithripala Sirisena has said that he is ready for a new journey of building a new country with all the people who love the country. The President was addressing a public gathering of the United People’s Freedom Alliance in the Kaduruwela town yesterday.
The President was addressing a victorious rally of a series of meetings organized for the consolidation of the victory of candidates of the United Peoples Freedom Alliance headed by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party contesting the 2018 Local Government polls. It was held in the Kaduruwela town yesterday. A mammoth gathering of the Polonnaruwa District joined in this rally. The President received a rousing welcome.

Addressing the gathering, President Maithripala Sirisena said that the people who love the country have been gathering under one flag today along with the United People’s Freedom Alliance led by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party to carry forward the country in collaboration with a clean political campaign. The President assured that he would protect national security and the unitary status of the motherland.
The President said that he defected from the Rajapaksa regime in 2014 to rule the country with a respectable government. He said that he would not collaborate with fraudsters in ruling the country. He called on the people to build a worthy country, a village and a good town. He told the gathering that he would accept their responsibility. The President assured that he would not split the country and called on the people to have no doubts about it.
The President said that he would build a country devoid of fraud, corruption, wastage and dictatorship so that the people can live democratically. He was optimistic that they would achieve a landslide victory at the February 10th polls.
The President also responded to a statement made by the Former President after arriving in the Polonnaruwa area recently.
The President said that he was inviting Mahinda Rajapaksa and all others criticizing them to have a look at the development that was progressing. He said that the people have gathered round them along with the development with the aim of building a clean political campaign.
Several Parliamentarians who joined in the occasion also expressed their views at the meeting.
