President Maithripala Sirisena has directed the Health Ministry to airlift medicine as an immediate solution for the shortage of medicine at the Kidney Unit of the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital. Director General of Health Services Dr. Palitha Mahipala said that a shortage of only two to three medicines are there at present at the Anuradhapura Hospital. There is no problem for Kidney patients even at present. The aim is to provide medicine without a problem even in the future. He said that President Maithripala Sirisena and Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne directed him to airlift medicine which may be needed in two to three weeks’ time.
