The Police are optimistic that they would be able to uncover details on the murderers of the Bambalapitiya millionaire businessman. The Colombo Crimes Division said that they have already interrogated and recorded statements from around 20 persons.
An analysis of the CCTV footage along the road from near the Colombo house of the abducted millionaire businessmen up to the Hemmathagama area in Mawanella is now being carried out. The Colombo Crimes Division said that inquiries are also being carried out on the telephone calls data. 29-year-old millionaire businessman Mohammed Suleiman was abducted from opposite his house in Bambalapitiya on the 21st of this month. His body was recovered from a shrub in the Rukulagama area in Mawanella on the 24th of this month. It was revealed in the autopsy that the death had been cause by attacking his head with a blunt weapon. Meanwhile, the Court has barred foreign travel of five persons following a request made by the Colombo Crimes Division. They are reported to be close associates of Mohammed Suleiman. 20 including these five persons have been interrogated.
