The chief suspect in the case related to the murder of seven women in Kotakethana has been remanded until the 06th of next month. The Magistrate ordered for the issue of notices for the third time to the Ratnapura Judicial Medical Officer to immediately hand over the post mortem report of the mother of three.
The Kahawatte Kotakekthana women murder case was taken up for hearing at the Pelmadulla Magistrate’s Court today. The suspect Akuragoda Jayalathge Neil Lakshman was again produced in Courts today.
The Criminal Investigations Department submitted a report to secure the advice of the Attorney General as to how the future investigations into the incident should be carried out. The CID informed that inquiries were being carried out to determine the truth of the confessions made by the suspect.
The suspect was earlier referred to the Genetech Molecular Diagnostics Research Institute for a DNA test.
The Pelmadulla Magistrate ordered to issue notices for the third occasion on the Ratnapura Judicial Medical Officer to submit an immediate report on the autopsy of Nathan Pappu, the mother of three who was murdered on the final occasion in Kotakethana.
