The suspect who was arrested for suspicious behavior and impersonating as a journalist at the funeral of veteran musician W.D. Amaradeva at the Independence Square, where the President and other VIPs were present, has been remanded.
The Colombo Magistrate’s Court decided to remand him until Thursday the 17th. The suspect is a resident of Kotahena. The lawyers of the suspect today said that he is suffering from a mental illness. They also reported that the camera used was borrowed from a relative.
Chief Magistrate Gehan Pilapitiya directed the prison authority to produce the suspect before a Judicial Medical Officer for a psychological test and submit the report to the court soon.
