New mechanism in Government institutions within the next two weeks to increase its performance

President Maithripala Sirisena said that he would make a complete change to the government sector mechanism soon with the aim of making certain state institutions more efficient. During a meeting held in Colombo this morning, President Sirisena told several heads of media institutions that significant changes will be made to top positions of the government sector.
This discussion was held at the official residence of the President this morning.
Among those who joined in this occasion were Ministers Rajitha Senaratne, Lakshman Kiriella, Gayantha Karunatilake, Anura Pryadarshana Yapa and Faizer Mustapha and Deputy Minister Karunaratne Paranavithana.
Addressing those who were present at this discussion, the President said that the country is now on a firm and correct path.
He also reiterated that the economy has rebounded and is moving on the right track with a record of foreign reserves amounting to 5 billion US dollars. The President said that more economic performances can be witnessed soon.
The president also added that he is ready to abolish Executive Presidency and there was no change in his pledge to the nation made on January 08th.
