Mahinda Rajapaksahas no intention of grabbing power through conspiracies

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that he had no intention of grabbing power through conspiracies. He made this statement addressing a media conference held at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Party office located at the Nelum Mawatha today.
The Former President said that they planned to summon all members after they are appointed also with the national lists with the release of the full results. Thereafter the necessary instructions will be issued to them on the manner in which they should serve their areas. He said they planned to go for an election and form a stable Government.
Responding to a query whether he was prepared to assume the Chairmanship of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, pointing out the finger at those who were accompanying him, he said that it was they who had to take a decision.
Responding to a question whether he was ready to form a Government with the support of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party MPs in Parliament, Mahinda Rajapaksa said that it was better for them to face an election and receive a people’s mandate. The former President said that he had no intention of conspiring and forming a Government seeking defections.
