Parliamentarian Jayantha Samaraweera and Sarath Weerawansa

the brother of Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa have been further remanded. The Colombo Fort Magistrate ordered to re-remand them until the 24th of this month.
Jathika Nidahas Peramuna Parliamentarian Jayantha Samaraweera is accused of misusing three vehicles of the President Secretariat during the previous regime. The charges also mentioned that in this manner he had caused a loss of more than five million 34 thousand rupees to the Government. The order with respect to the application is scheduled to be announced on the 24th of this month.
Meanwhile, Sarath Weerawansa, the brother of Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa was produced in the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today. He is accused of misusing two vehicles of the Presidential Secretariat and the Ministry of Construction, Engineering Services and Housing incurring a loss of 10.5 million rupees to the Government. The Magistrate said that the order with respect to his bail application too would be delivered on the 24th of this month.
