The Criminal Investigations Department has begun comprehensive
investigations on a vehicle said to have arrived behind the vehicle of ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen on the night he was murdered. This has been intimated by the Attorney General to the Colombo Additional Magistrate.
The former OIC of the Narahenpita Police Station had received telephone calls from Temple Trees and the Presidential Secretariat on the day the death of Thajudeen occurred. The Criminal Investigations Department informed the Court that they had recorded statements in this respect from 12 officers of the Presidential Security Division.
Former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake and former OIC of the Narahenpita Police Crimes Unit Sumith Champika Perera are remanded over several allegations including that of concealing information on the Thajudeen murder. The Colombo Additional Magistrate today ordered to further remand them until the 26th of this month.
