Government’s desire is to give equal place to everyone: PM

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has said that the Government was taking action to move forward as a unitary country giving an equal place to everyone as expected by them. The Prime Minister made this reference participating as the Chief Guest at the function to create a model similar to the United Nations by the Overseas International School.
Members of this organization were selected from among the children of the school. At present more than 400 children belonging to 47 various nations are studying in the Overseas International School.
The School Principal, staff members as well as Mrs. Hema Premadasa were among those who participated in the launch of the new organization.
Expressing views on the occasion, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe said that attempts made to secure power based on hatred can be seen on many occasions.
The Prime Minister said that the United States and Europe are within this basis. It is a threat to other countries in the world as to Sri Lanka. He called on the United Nations Organization model not to leave room for such purposes.
The people expect a peaceful country once a war is over. The Prime Minister said that it was for this purpose that the people elected their Government to power in the year 2015. Premier Wickremasinghe added that their desire is to move forward as a unitary country within a joint framework and with the support of everyone.
