Fisheries Ministry to seek technical support from Vietnam

The Fisheries Ministry has drawn its attention to seeking technological support from Vietnam for the development of fisheries activities in Sri Lanka.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera who was engaged in a tour of Vietnam along with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe had undertaken a special study of that country’s aquaculture. Following the study the Minister has drawn his attention to the application of technology used by Vietnam for fisheries activities and the aquaculture industry in Sri Lanka too.
The Minister has also had a special discussion with the Vietnamese Ambassador in Sri Lanka on the support that could be obtained in this respect. The Minister said that the Vietnamese Government authorities had expressed consent in extending technological support for the development of aquaculture and the local inland fisheries industry.
