Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasingha says that development work in Anuradhapura will be implemented while protecting the culture. The Prime Minister mentioned this while attending to several religious programmes in Anuradhapura. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe called over on Chief Prelate of Atamasthanaya Venerable Pallegma Siriniwasa Thera. The Prime Minister informed him about the development projects planned for Anuradhapura. The Prime Minister explained the way that more tourists would be attracted to Anuradhapura and the plans to protect the culture. Thereafter Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe paid homage to the Jayasrimaha Bodhi in Anuradhapura. Thereafter he worshiped the Ruwanvelimaha Seya. The Prime Minister who visited Chief monk of Ruwanwelimaha Seya Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Thera, explained to him about the lower Malwathuoya Irrigation Scheme. Venerable Pallegma Hemarathana Thera pointed out that the Prime Minister has a broad knowledge about local and foreign affairs. Prime Minister Wickremasinghe went to Anuradhapura Sarananda Maha Pirivena and met the Chief Priest of the Pirivena and Anunayaka of Ramannaa Nikaya Venerable Girambe Ananda Thera. The Primer called over on the Registrar of Mirisawetiya Raja Maha Viharaya Venerable Eethala Wetunawewe Gnanatilaka Thera. Prime Minister Ranil Wickreamsinghe also visited Thanthirimale Rajamaha Viharaya and engaged in religious practices. He called over on Chief Priest of the temple Venerable Thanthirimale Chandrarathna Thera. Several Parliamentarians accompanied the Prime Minister.
