It is likely to develop into a deep depression during next 36 hours and move towards north-northwest direction in the Bay of Bengal sea area.
He said that showers or thundershowers will occur at few places in the Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Central Southern and Western provinces and in the Puttalam, Mannar and Ampara districts after 2.00p.m.
Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
