Minister Faizer Mustapha has revealed that the Delimitation Report will be gazetted tomorrow. He made this revelation joining in an SLFP media conference today.
Minister Faizer Mustapha announced that he wished to assure with responsibility that all arrangements are in place to gazette the delimitation report. He said it would be handed over tomorrow to be gazetted. The finger was pointed out at him by the country on this matter. He expressed his regrets about it and said that he had to shoulder the burden of Basil Rajapaksa.
Addressing the journalists State Minister Dilan Perera said that although some representing the opposition had withdrawn from the Constitutional Council Sub Committees, the work of these Committees has been completed.
The State Minister pointed out that members of the Joint opposition have withdrawn from Sub Committees of the Constitutional Council but have not left the main Operations Committee. He said that they joined in the Sub Committee work and put forward reasonable arguments. Their views were taken into consideration and submitted to Parliament. He is glad that they are not leaving from the Operations Committee.
Deputy Minister Anuradha Jayaratne said that an environment has been created in the country where all communities are working together. It should be mentioned that the President irrespective of the locations was giving the leadership with regard to all work through the Mahaweli. It is possible to give water to all these areas. Water Scheme were in place in every part of the country. He said that it should be mentioned that it is the President after Gamini Dissanayake who is launching the large number of irrigation projects for the benefit of the people of this country.
Deputy Minister Tharanath Basnayake referred to the benefits that the people would achieve as a result of the Northwestern Canal Project.
