Court fixes July for case against Tissa Attanayake

The Colombo High Court has postponed the case filed against former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake for allegedly preparing a fraudulent document has been postponed until the 17th of July.
The case was fixed for July after the State Counsels sought a new date since the first two witnesses in the case, the President and the Prime Minister, were not present at the Court. The Counsels appearing on behalf of the witnesses apprised the Court that the President and the PM had informed that they could not appear before the Court today due to their pre-scheduled plans. Mr. Attanayake who was arrested and remanded for allegedly preparing the fraudulent document, was granted bail on December 05th last year. He is accused of forging the signatures of the President and the Prime Minister in a letter. Tissa Attanayake is accused of fabricating the document to discredit the witnesses.
