A three member Committee has been appointed to hold investigations into the accident which resulted at the Wilwatte Sub Station in Mirigama following the collision of an engine with a stationed train. This has been revealed by Railway Transport Superintendent Vijaya Samarasinghe.
An inquiry was held to determine whether there was a fault in the signal system. However, inquiries are being carried out to determine the cause of the accident. A Committee has been appointed to inquire into the accident and it comprises the Deputy Transport Superintendent, the Deputy Chief Engineer Operations and Electronics.
