The Cabinet has granted the nod to release circular instructions

drafted on the recommendations of the National Salaries and Cadres Commission for restructure of salaries of State Corporations, Statutory Boards and state owned companies. In addition to information on this news report there is information on more other Cabinet decisions.
The Circular dated 25th February was issued as per a decision taken by the Cabinet of Ministers to add the special allowance and the interim allowance of 10,000 rupees to the basic salary of public servants in stages.
Accordingly salaries of public servants have already been done. In line with this step, the proposal made by Minister Ravi Karunanayake to issue the circular which is prepared according to the recommendations of the National Salaries and Cadres Commission to amend the basic salaries of employees of public corporations, statutory boards and fully owned government companies, received Cabinet approval.
The Cabinet granted the nod to a proposal presented with the aim of giving an opportunity to Parliamentarians to discuss issues that surface in the implementation of work in their areas, in relation to the Portfolio of the Ministers. The proposal was presented by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe. Accordingly, Ministers should remain in Parliament at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesdays during the second week of every month.
The Prime Minister presented a memorandum to the Cabinet to implement an infrastructure development project with the aim of upgrading the living standards of the people in rural areas. It is intended to complete this programme before the end of December this year.
Cabinet approval was received for the provision of the necessary grants to construct a three storied building of the Katukurunda Special Task Force Training school. The proposal was made by Minister Sagala Ratnayake.
