The Cabinet has agreed to implement the recommendations of the Committee
appointed by the President and the Prime Minister of power outage. The Cabinet has also given its nod to purchase only the essential quantity of electricity if rain was not received in the next few days.
The Cabinet had discussed at length the recent power outage and also the initiatives that should be taken to supply electricity sans any obstacles.
The President appointed a Committee headed by the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy to examine the power outage and submit recommendations. The Prime Minister also appointed a Committee headed by C. Maliyedda.
The Cabinet of Ministers had agreed to implement the recommendations made in the reports submitted by these two Committees. Action will also be taken to purchase power generated by the Private Sector if sufficient rain is not being experienced in the future.
