Bribery Commission given time to file charges against Mahindananda

The Colombo Chief Magistrate gave time for the Bribery Commission to file a new charge sheet with respect to the misuse of funds by Parliamentarian Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
Mahindananda Aluthgamage is accused of misusing a sum of more than 53.1 million rupees for the purchase of 14,000 carom boards and 11,000 draught boards during the last Presidential election period.
The Court ordered the Bribery Commission to file a new charge sheet on the 12th of June in this respect.
Former Sathosa Chairman Nalin Fernando has been named as the second suspect in this case.
