Bribery Commission files new corruption cases against Johnston Fernando

Court cases have been filed against three suspects including former Minister Johnston Fernando for causing a loss of a sum amounting to 40 million rupees. The cases have been filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for using employees of the CWE for political activities.

They are accused of using 153 employees of the CWE during the years 2010 to 2014. The cases have been filed against former Minister Johnston Fernando, Former Sathosa Chairman Eraj Priyantha Fernando and its former Working Director Mohammed Fakir. Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya issued notice to the three individuals to appear in court on the 30th of this month.
