A social community programme for the distribution of artificial limbs by the Independent Television Network was held today at its premises. The event was organized under the patronage of Minister Gayantha Karunatilake.
This social programme under the title “Piyawara” was held marking ITN’s Anniversary. 15 disabled persons were presented with artificial limbs. Noteworthy was the distribution of these artificial limbs made to suit their limbs. It was launched with financial contributions from the Independent Television Network and ITN viewers.
ITN Chairman Hemasiri Fernando who participated in the occasion expressing his views said that social community programmes are nothing new for the Independent Television Network. He gave an assurance that such programmes will continuously be launched in the future.
ITN Working Director Danushka Ramanayake, Deputy General Managers and staff members were among those who joined in this occasion.
