Another batch of housemaids who faced harassments while serving in the Middle East have returned home. They were able to return to their motherland following the mediation of the Foreign Employment Bureau. 147 more housemaids returned from the Middle East in the early hours of today.
These 147 housemaids who encountered various hindrances while serving in the Middle East returned home, following the mediation of the Foreign Employment Bureau.
On arrival these Sri Lankan women were taken to the Sahana Piyasa in Katunayake with the support of the Foreign Employment Bureau of the Katunayake Airport to accord the facilities they required. The returnees said that another large group of Sri Lankan women who faced harassment are stranded in relief camps in Kuwait.
