Tunisia’s pooches get royal grooming at pet salon

At the “Pet’s Beauty Centre” in Tunisian capital, Tunis, sat a cream-coloured Pomeranian on top of a counter, waiting to be pampered and groomed.

The pet beauty salon offers a variety of services to improve the health and well-being of domestic animals. Pet owners bring in their cats and dogs for the luxury treatment that the centre has to offer. The services provided for the pooches and felines include “baths and nail trims to pet outfits and accessories,” said Samar Matoussi, the owner of the centre. Matoussi opened the beauty centre two weeks ago and said that it has since been “highly welcomed by those who love and care about their animals.”She first thought of the idea when she ran into a street corner selling pets’ beauty products during a trip to a European country. Before clients show up at the pet salon with their pets, they call ahead to book an appointment. The beauty centre receives phone calls for reservations every day, Matoussi said, but it can only cater to three pets a day because it takes over three hours to complete the grooming of one animal.
