PEOPLE-MICHAEL JACKSON/GERMANY

The Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn is determined to go ahead with the opening of “Michael Jackson: On The Wall”, an exhibition displaying dozens of art works of the King of Pop.
The new collection, which includes approximately 100 art works by 70 different artists, is a mix of different art trends, going from the famous “American Jesus” by David LaChapelle to Andy Warhol’s portraits. “It is about a cultural phenomenon, the phenomenon Michael Jackson and it is a historical exhibition,” Rein Wolfs, director of the museum, told Reuters TV. “It shows the influence that Michael Jackson had on the art world,” he added.

The exhibition has been overshadowed by new alleged child sex abuse accusations against the deceased popstar. The HBO film “Leaving Neverland” features two men now in their 30s and 40s who say they were befriended by Jackson and sexually abused by him starting from when they were 7 and 10 years old.
Wolfs said cancelling the exhibition would be like erasing a piece of cultural history and taking away a platform to discuss the issue, so the museum was ready to go ahead with it.
