Vietnamese accused of murdering Kim Jong Nam arrives in court

Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, one of two women charged with murdering Kim Jong Nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korea’s leader arrived in court as Malaysia’s prosecutors consider calls to free her. The Vietnamese government called on Malaysia to release Huong, after her co-accused, Indonesian woman Siti Aisyah, was freed when prosecutors withdrew a murder charge against her. Huong and Siti Aisyah were charged with killing Kim Jong Nam by smearing his face with VX poison, a banned chemical weapon, at Kuala Lumpur airport in February 2017.The women were the only suspects in custody and pleaded not guilty, saying they thought they were involved in a prank for a reality TV show. Four North Koreans also charged in the killing have fled Malaysia.
