Footage shows moment of German F3 driver’s spectacular crash

The Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee released footage of last weekend’s dramatic aerial crash involving German Formula 3 driver Sophia Floersch. Floersch, 17, suffered a spinal fracture at the street circuit in Macau, southern China on Sunday when her car catapulted off the track and into a photographers’ bunker while travelling at more than 275km per hour. Floersch reassured fans on social media on Tuesday that she was recovering well and vowed to return to the sport. The German driver said this a day after undergoing 11 hours of surgery at a hospital in Macau. Japanese driver Sho Tsuboi, who Floersch crashed into, was discharged from hospital. The hospital said a 25-year-old Chinese photographer, also injured in the incident, was in a stable condition and was expected to remain in hospital for another week.
