prosthetic casque in a Bird to save its life

Keepers at Jurong Bird Park noticed an eight centimetre wide gash on 22-year-old male Jary’s casque in July. The bird underwent a CT-guided biopsy during which a tissue sample from the casque was extracted and examined. Having confirmed a cancer diagnosis, the veterinary team contacted the Keio-NUS CUTE (Connective Ubiquitous Technology for Embodiments) Centre, along with the National University of Singapore (NUS) Smart Systems Institute, and NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing for help.
