Wilson, Conlogue victorious at World Surf League

Julian Wilson and Courtney Conlogue came out on top in the World Surf League event in Soorts-Hossegor, France.The final day of competition saw both Wilson and Conlogue fight through a tough group of competitors to ensure they were victorious on the ninth stop of the World Surf League.Wilson added to his victory on Australia’s Gold Coast earlier in the season and his win in France keeps the 29 year-old in contention for a first men’s world title. His final victory over fellow Australian Ryan Callinan, with a score of 15.34 to 14.23, ensures Wilson cements his position in third place overall and just 4,645 points behind world number 1 Gabriel Medina .U.S. women’s surfer Conlogue has been on a long journey back from a foot injury earlier in the season and crowned her return with a victory in France.It was the eleventh win of her career and means the 26 year-old jumps up to number eight in the overall leader board.
