Indonesians Muslim flocked to mosques, spacious places and fields to mark Eid al-Fitr, the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan. In Jakarta’s Al Azhar mosque, more than 3,000 people gathered for prayers. Earlier in the fasting month, Indonesia was shocked by the bombing of three churches in Surabaya, killing dozens of people including the perpetrators which included young children. People at the prayers said that the incident does not reflect the principles of Islam as a peaceful religion.
