Colombo prepares for IIFA
Colombo is making preparations for the 11th International Indian Film Academy Awards scheduled to be held in Colombo from 3rd to 5th of June.
The awards ceremony is to be held at the Sugathadasa Stadium. IIFA 2010 in Colombo is expected to be attended by more than 600 Indian film industry guests and watched by over 600 million TV viewers in 110 nations. The Indian celebrities expected in the country include Shah Rukh Khan and several other leading stars.
The Colombo Municipal Council said that a food court is to be opened at Sathutu Uyana and a night bazaar will be located either at Green Path or Galle Face simultaneous to the event. These are being organized to boost tourism to bring in revenue.

This is very good for our tourism…
Of course, Giyapara sharuk apu welawe sidu una siduweema correct karanna hondama welawa.
Kalin para sharuk apuwelawe siduwecha siduweema correct karanna meken puluwan wei..
This event would definitely help increase tourists to the island. This should also be taken as an opportunity to develop the commercial capitol of Srilanka – Colombo while we celebrate the elimination of terrorism this month.
Think of this opportunity to show the world what an amazing nation we are! Let us all put aside petty issues and make sure that nothing that is of defamatory to our motherland happens this time (like the Shah Rukh Khan incident that happened before) but concentrate on uplifting the name of our motherland Srilanka. We must SHOW this to the world. No use of preaching fancy words but let's SHOW this by example
