February 5, 2010 Local News View Comments

India has extended further assistance for the persons being resettled in the north.

India has expressed willingness to provide 800,000 bags of cement required for housing construction. The Indian High Commission has announced that 300 million rupees will be spent in this connection. The stock of cement will be handed over to the Uthuru Wasanthaya Task Force in the next few days. The aid will be provided for the projects underway in Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Mannar, and Mulaitivu.
