Positive development changes witnessed – Deputy Minister

Deputy Minister Sarath Amunugama has said that changes should be effected to almost every sector so that these could make a vital contribution to the rapid development taking place in the country within the next few years.

The Minister was delivering the keynote address at the Blue Ocean Entrepreneurship Development Training Workshop organized in Colombo. The event was organised by the Colombo Plan Secretariat. The Minister was of the view that positive development features are already being witnessed in the island. An environment most suitable and attractive to the Tourism Industry has already been created. Paddy cultivation is displaying a significant progress which could enable the country to export rice. Deputy Minister Amunugama emphasized that the Government has drawn more attention to empowering small and medium scale enterprises. He pointed out that the importance of changing the education system to improve the capabilities of these entrepreneurs.
