Parliament should set example – Speaker
Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa has said that the creation of a disciplined society should be initiated in Parliament.
The Speaker said that focus is being made about discipline in schools and other Government institutions. He also felt this need when he chaired the Parliamentary Sessions.
He noted that a disciplined society can be created starting from Parliament. Economic Development and morality could be easily created in a disciplined society.
The Speaker made these comments when he participated in a function held at the Dharmodaya Pirivena at Madanwela in Hanguranketha.
The Speaker said that discipline achieves much importance in the development process. The Government led by the President expects to create a virtuous society.
The Speaker also unveiled a rock inscription located in the premises of the Pirivena. Minister S.B. Dissanayake was amongst those who participated in the occasion.
