An opportunity to view the Hambantota Harbour before water filling

Chairman of the Ports Authority, Dr. Priyath Banduwickrema says that, Sri Lankans will be able to witness the historic occasion of filling the Hambantota port with water on the 15th of next month. The Hambantota Port is being built with the technical expertise of local engineers.

This is a rare occasion that will given an opportunity to see the bottom of the harbour and also gives an opportunity to see the Water Filling Ceremony. There is no evidence in world history in relation to this kind of incident. The Port Authority Chairman invited the public to use this opportunity. He said the public are permitted to visit the Hambantota Harbour before it is being filled with water. The Public will also be able to visit the bottom of the harbour. Special arrangements are being made to facilitate the visitors.
